Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

Joy Division burst onto the UK music scene in 1979 with the moody debut album, Unknown Pleasures. Frontman Ian Curtis has one of those voices that just grabs your attention the second you hear that deep baratone.

Recently founding member Peter Hook hit the road and played some 30-year-anniversary gigs to commemorate their amazing debut album.

Love Will Tear Us Apart is one of my favourite songs, and is arguably one of the greatest songs ever. The haunting lyrics about a love that's too hard to control, that's it's tearing two people away from each other - it's almost like a little insight into Curtis's head as he battled his epilepsy, depression, a failing marriage, and struggled to come to terms with their every growing success, which eventually lead to him committing suicide.

If you haven't seen the movie about Joy Division and Ian Curtis, Control, the I suggest you get it and check it out. Such a tragic story about a great musician who left us far too early.
