Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Red Right Hand

He's simply amazing, Nick Cave is one of the all time greats, and today's song is brought to you by they lovely Celina...

OK! This song was my first Nick Cave experience... back in, let me see 1991, when I was but a wee 13-year-old, I went away on a seaside holiday with best friend's family up the Yorke Peninsula.

We stayed in a caravan park.

As you do at 13, we went on a night walk adventure and over by the shore we could hear music, oh! And the closer we went I was intrigued by the dark, deep sound being produced by the ghetto blasta (or in this case beach blasta!)

These boys (older of course) were a playin' THIS...! Nick Cave - Red Right Hand.

Too scared and freaked out by the sound, we hid in the bushes and stalked them all night and listened to the whole album.

I'll never forget how this music made an impact on my ears and mind.

Music Go Music - Reach Out

Today's tune is brought to you by a really cool friend who's music taste is really refreshing and awesome, and I'm loving the tunes she's discovering for me of late. So here you go...

These guys are super groovi-licious (as you will soon see and hear for yourselves). A friend got me onto them and it just gave me hope that there are still great bands out there making great sounding tunes...

These guys originally didn't want to make it big and never signed to a record label, they just made 10 or so singles drip feeding them on the net. So if you like - check out their other tunes. They rock! - I want to be her. Enjoy

The Easy Beats - Friday On My Mind

This song was voted ‘Best Australian Song Of All Time’ on APRA’s (Australasian Performing Right Association) list of Ten Best Australian Songs, by a panel of 100 music personalities (thank you Wikipedia).

It is an all time classic number, and definitely rocks! Even though it is quite “pop-py”, it has a whole lotta ZEST.

Of course they had many other kick ar$e songs like ‘sorry’ and she’s so fine’, but this is my favourite. Check out Stevie Wright... he’s a bit of a nutter, but I like it!

Did you know: That one of the members George Young (main songwriter) is older brother to Malcom & Angus Young? Mmm yes, well there you go!

Words by Celina Gaweda

Very Best of the Easybeats
