Avi Buffalo - What's In It For?

A new band I've been listening to lately is the lovely Avi Buffalo.

Their soft indie-pop tunes have been the soundtrack to my morning routine of late, and from the first listen it's easy to see why.

I'm anything but a morning person (it could be said I hate mornings) but they seem to be slightly easier when I've got Avi Buffalo ringing in my headphones.

Their debut self-titled album is a slice of Californian heaven and brings rays of sunshine to even the coldest and dampest of Aussie winter mornings.

Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Bright Lit Blue Skies

One of the coolest and most varied albums of 2010, for me, was Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti's, Before Today.

Each song sounds so different yet oh so cool, and Bright Lit Blue Skies is a happy pop tune perfect for any lazy Sunday summer afternoon.

And although we haven't had the best summer, we have had our fair share of bright lit blue skies. So here's hoping that there's many more to come with lazy afternoons spent sitting on the beach and drinking ice cold beer.

Little Red - Slow Motion

The summer of cricket has certainly started, and there's nothing I and most guys love watching more than super slow mo replays of sporting action.

There's been so many slow motion montages so far, and they generally have some pretty cool music that goes along with the footage.

I haven't seen this one used on the cricket yet, but they're bound to bust it out a few times over the summer. It also looks like it's filmed in the Inner West (same factory as the Urthboy film clip), representing yo!

Best Coast - Boyfriend

A friend recently gave me the new Best Coast album and I gave it a spin for the first time on the way to work this morning.

Yep, it's another surf rock album, but this time the ladies are having a crack and it's very damn impressive.

I'd heard this song, Boyfriend, a fair few times before but never actually knew who it was. So thanks to Kev, it's now been playing out of my headphones all day long.

Perfect, summer sunny music.
