Koop - Koop Island Blues

Today's song is brought to you by the fleet footed lanky lovable character that is Nicholas T!

Howdy music loves, during my time overseas recently I have met people from all over the world and been introduced to aw hole range of different musical styles.

I was fortunate enough to become great friends with a guy who I lived with in Copenhagen. Hans of Germany (no surprises with a name like that) told me about a band called Koop.

Each night we would listen to their album, and many others, while we made dinner in our communal kitchen. We would never tire of hearing Koop and 'Island Blues' is just one of many songs that I fell in love with.

it is mellow, very chill, has a mesmerising melody and is a song that reminds me of good times with great friends.

The song speaks of heartbreak and longing for someone you can't have, which was appropriate for me, and I am sure is something that will resonate with many.

Hope you enjoy.

Weezer - Say It Ain't So

Say It Ain't So by Weezer is a chunk of pop rock heaven! It's from the album Blue which is one of my all-time favourites.

If I was to add up the amount of hours I've spent sitting around with friends listening to this album you'd probably be shocked, but time spent with Weezer and Blue is always going to be time well spent in my book... and I'm sure the friends who listened to it with me would say the same.

In fact, I've spent so much time with Blue that I class this album as one of my best friends. I might not see him every week these days but when we catch up those old memories and riffs come running back. Memories best served with a cold Heine' (so it stops crowdin' your icebox)  and the volume turned way up.

The Doors - People Are Strange

Jim said it best, people are strange - and thank god for that!

Imagine if we were all the bloody same. What a boring world it would be.

Individuality is what makes our friends and family unique and is also the reason we love them.

Sure they might be annoying or do things that concern or trouble us, but at the end of the day they're just strange in their own way and given the option we wouldn't change them for the world.

So embrace the strange, the wonderful and the cooky, for our lives would be far too much mundane without them.
