Led Zeppelin - D'yer Mak'er

Howdy folks, today I got chatting with a friend of mine who’s a huge 70’s/80’s rock tragic. We started talking about her favourite tunes and what she’s been listening to lately and the response came quick and fast.

The always lovely lady Ashlee Adams shot back, "Zeppelin, D’yer Mak'er". Ash stated it was her favourite song of all time, which is always a touch call to make when talking tunes but when questioned she couldn’t even pin point what it was about the song that made it her favourite.

 After a brief quizzing, Ash put it down to the fact that every time the song is played, no matter how she’s feeling, she’ll be happy by the time it finishes. Well that and the fact that she thinks that Bonham on the drums is just EPIC.

Seems like reasonable reasons to me!

Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon

Sorry for the lack of songs of late, I've been flat out, but thankfully I've been flat out seeing gigs!

I was lucky enough to catch the amazing Stevie Nicks live in concert the other week and she certainly impressed. Her voice still sounds as amazing as it did in the 70's while her band proceeded to blow minds all over the stadium.

One of the stand out tracks from the night was Rhiannon, it really made the show for me. The band did a crazy 10min instrumental introduction which was amazing, before Stevie emerged from the back of the stage howling in that supremely powerful voice.

Kasabian - Vlad The Impaler

This song and clip ticks all the right boxes for my personal taste.

Firstly, it's by Kasabian, one of my all time favourite bands (Sorry Lou).

Secondly, it features Noel Fielding from The Mighty Boosh which just happens to be one of the greatest random comedy shows.

Thirdly it's Movember and Noel is sporting a straight up 70's 'tache that any aging porn star would be proud to call his own.

The clip is done brilliantly and highlights the fact that Noel Fielding was born three decades too late, and really missed his calling as a old school horror actor.
